Active Ingredient
Each film-coated tablet contains 1.5 mg of cytisine. The tablets also contain excipients including mannitol, corn starch, hypromellose, magnesium stearate and other coating ingredients. Each tablet contains 0.12 mg of aspartame.
Directions for Use
The standard 25-day schedule is:
- Days 1–3: 1 tablet every 2 hours — maximum 6 tablets/day
- Days 4–12: 1 tablet every 2.5 hours — maximum 5 tablets/day
- Days 13–16: 1 tablet every 3 hours — maximum 4 tablets/day
- Days 17–20: 1 tablet every 3 hours — maximum 3 tablets/day
- Days 21–25: 1–2 tablets/day
Smoking should be stopped completely no later than the 5th day of treatment. Tablets should be taken orally with water.
Safety Information
Recigar is intended for adults. It should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and is contraindicated in certain serious cardiovascular conditions, including unstable angina, recent myocardial infarction, clinically significant arrhythmias and recent stroke.
